Our student chapter was created in 2012, and it is affiliated to ACS POLY and PMSE divisions as well as recognized as an official organization by the University of Florida.

Dr. Adam Viege will present a keynote lecture at the Florida Annual Meeting and Exposition May 3-5 2018 at the Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, FL. Presenters will be discussing research in polymers and macromolecules from around the state.

Congratulations to Mayra Rostango of the Miller Group for winning the POLY/PMSE Video Competition! The purpose of the competition is to prepare young chemists to present their research in a short video and to interact with a broad range of audiences, including more senior scientists and the general public. Congratulations to Jawaher "Jojo" Alfurhood of the Sumerlin Group for winning the POLY/PMSE Poster Award! Alfurhood won the POLY/PMSE Outstanding Poster Award of the 2016 Spring ACS National Meeting in San Diego for her poster titled "Hyperbranched Poly(N-(2-Hydroxypropyl) Methacrylamide) via RAFT Self-Condensing Vinyl Polymerization." Jawaher is a 4th year student in the Sumerlin Research Group. This is her second poster award in ten months, with the first coming at the 2015 Florida Annual Meeting and Exposition of American Chemical Society (FAME 2015).
